Is Hayafi for dating or serious marriage?

Hayafi is strictly for Muslims looking for halal marriage. It is not designed for casual dating or temporary relationships.

Do I need a wali to use the app?

No, but we offer an optional wali feature where users can choose to have their chats monitored by a trusted wali for added transparency.

Is the app free to use?

The app offers both free and premium features. You can browse, match and message for free, but upgrades may be available for enhanced options.

How does verification work?

You can submit a selfie and ID document. Verified users will receive a badge on their profile to show they’ve been screened.

Can I hide my profile?

Yes, there is a privacy toggle to hide your profile or make it visible only to people you match with.

How do I report inappropriate or unwanted behaviour?

We take abuse seriously. If another user is behaving in a way that goes against our policy, you can report, block, or mute them directly through the app. Our team will review the situation and take appropriate action to keep the platform respectful and safe for everyone.

What makes Hayafi different from other Muslim marriage apps?

Hayafi is designed for serious, marriage-minded Muslims only — not casual swipers or time-wasters. We offer optional wali chat oversight, selfie verification, and a strong moderation system to keep things halal and respectful.

Is Hayafi for all madhhabs and backgrounds?

Yes. We welcome Muslims from all ethnicities, backgrounds, and schools of thought. You can set your own preferences for sect, culture, language, etc.

Can I set filters like prayer level, ethnicity or location?

Yes. You can filter matches by age, location, sect, religiosity level, prayer habits, ethnicity, and more. Some filters are premium-only.

How are chat transcripts with a wali handled?

If you enable the wali feature, they’ll receive full chat transcripts between you and your match. You can remove a wali anytime. Hayafi doesn’t intervene in how the wali chooses to respond.

Can I use Hayafi if I’m a revert or new to Islam?

Absolutely. Hayafi is open to reverts and those new to the deen who are seeking a halal, serious path to marriage.

Is there an option to unmatch or delete conversations?

Yes. You can unmatch at any time, which removes the chat. Unmatching also removes visibility unless both parties rematch again later.

Will Hayafi match me automatically?

No. You swipe and match manually — we don’t use auto-matching or forced suggestions. The control is fully in your hands.

What happens if someone pretends to be someone they’re not?

We have verification and report tools to tackle catfishing and fake accounts. Any user proven to be misleading others will be banned permanently.

Is my data and identity kept safe?

Yes. We use strong encryption, secure servers, and only work with trusted providers like Stripe and Firebase. ID docs and chats are never shared outside of the platform.
